Context 

Nothingness Titles  was founded in 2024. 

During his studies of biology, thinking like many others before him about ideas related to human nature, the founder realised one thing. It's easier to give your opinion on certain thoughts: like doing good or evil, like our freedom to think or act, or discussions about the reality of our emotions and our conscience.

Moreover, awareness of human finitude is a key principle that more or less governs the way in which we are able to direct our existence. It is possible to put the choices we make in the light of this idea, of what we represent and what we really are, into perspective. To make the best choices, shouldn't we take a clear-eyed look at our existence? However, in the events that continually shake up our lives, comparable to the waves that wash up on the shore, we have, especially in our Western societies, a tendency to distract ourselves from what is essential.

Let yourself be transported

Conscious of this paradox, where the long time of existence pushes us to postpone things and to live in immediacy, it is urgent to become aware of our relationship with time. How many times have we heard this before? But no one can be more acutely aware of it than in a moment of detachment, almost disconnected, when we allow ourselves to conceive of what will be after us. Often, we can feel almost pain in the face of this concept. We must then try to conceive what was before us, and in our humility, understand that our construction is part of a whole. 

So the founder wondered whether meaning could be added to the absence of meaning, or rather gave it meaning. More pragmatically, he wondered whether nothingness could paradoxically be a driving force in our lives. Does living mean emerging completely from nothingness, or taming it and living with it?

To live in full awareness, and because we don't live on fresh water, the founder has attempted an acrobatic pirouette. Is it possible to market something that does not exist, or better still, something that cannot be naturally thought of? Of course, there are initiatives that have tried to sell nothing, emptiness. 

Firstly, it's important to distinguish them from scams. Some people have had fun possessing things that are impossible to have in the current state of affairs, such as the moon or the sun. 

Others that actually sell things, but which people associate with nothing, because they cannot be sold in any other context and are considered crazy to be offered for sale: in particular, canned prouts. 

Then, there are others that don't sell anything, but that people associate with nothing, in the sense that the absence of something is considered as nothing. So a piece of music composed of silence has been considered nothing, just as a painting with a blank canvas. There are also people who have actually sold a vacuum, in the physical sense of the term, i.e. a space composed of a very low density of particles. In this way, a statue was sold that was composed of emptiness, which is valid in the physical sense of the term.
